Lā‘au lapa‘au is a traditional medical practice adopted by native Hawaiians. The Hawaiian words, Lā‘au translates to vegetation (plant, tree, timber, forest) and lapa‘au translates to treat, heal and cure. This practice involves using native plants, herbs and spirituality to treat ailments and injuries. Traditionally, Lā‘au lapa‘au is practiced by Native Hawaiian healers known as Kahuna Lā‘au lapa‘au.

La‘au lapa‘au is solving the problems of body, mind and spirit. In Hawaiian healing the mental is not separate from the spiritual and physical. Rely on spiritual insight and most of all, guidance from akua.
